It's incredible to think that not long ago, words like "resilience" and "well-being" were not as well-known and "mainstream" as they are today: "resilience", above all, is one of those concepts that the last two years have definitely contributed to putting on the map for everyone, now more than ever.
There are plenty of ways to define resilience and, besides the most common definitions that we can find in every dictionary, new ways to think about resilience and to embody it are emerging every single day.
An example?
An interesting metaphor I've stumbled upon lately defines resilience as "the immune system of the psyche". Would this image have been possible only a couple of years ago? Probably not, and yet almost everyone would understand it now.
As we change, our way of looking at resilience and defining it may change as well. Giving some thought once in a while to what we consider as an expression of resilience is not only revealing, but also an unexpected tool for self-reflection and growth.
What's your own definition of resilience?
