I don't know about you, but I am a very big fan of so-called curveball recruiting questions.
Even if most of them can look like mere brainteasers created just for fun or for the sake of it, some of them can be quite deep and also reveal a lot about the person answering them.
One of my favorite ones is today's coaching question and it has been originally published by Glassdoor. It could look pretty trivial, and easy to reply to.
If I would ask you what was the last gift you gave someone, what would you say, without thinking too much about it?
Incredibly unspectacular, right?
And yet.
Through this question, we could discover what you consider a gift, and why, what's your mindset about reciprocity and giving back, whether or not you plan a gift in advance or not, which kind of people could expect a gift from you and when, how you deal with money, what's your style in the relationships with people around you, and maybe even whether or not you are a people-pleaser.
Interestingly enough, many of these features can be applied to other areas of our life as well, since what we are willing to give and accept from others is often a reflection of what we are willing to give and accept ourselves.

[If you have to think too long about this question...
it's probably time to give a new gift to someone]
