More often than not, we consider our expectations about something as "the bare minimum" and as "how things should go, no matter what".
It is then not very surprising that, as soon as things don't go as we expected, we are unsatisfied, disappointed, or even angry.
We tend to complain a lot as soon as we feel that we have been mistreated, failed, wronged.
And yet we don't vocalize just as often our delight about things turning out to be better than we expected.
