Coaching, reloaded - Coaching question of the day #201. - What people are actually asking you every day

When people ask us about our day, or how things are going, or why we picked that restaurant and not another one, they are not just fact-checking something or collecting random details. They are asking us to tell them a story.

They are asking us to tell them the story we tell ourselves about something.

Our personal narrative is among the most personal traits about us, a unique mix of our expectations, fears, beliefs, hopes, and previous experiences.
It is about how we perceive reality, how we look at the world, how we see ourselves.

[The way you tell your stories can make the difference
between a memorable and a dull day]

The next time someone asks you about your day or how your weekend has been, instead of just saying the first thing that comes to mind, think about the story you tell yourself about these events and about the story you want to tell both yourself and others.
Find your meaning, find your purpose, and tell a powerful story.

Coaching question of the day:
"How do you tell your story?"
