One of the most revealing signs of a growth mindset is, more often than now, our attitude towards advice.
How do we see the advice we receive from the people around us? As something useful, invasive, insensitive, not requested, or maybe precious, and generous?
Good advice is often absolutely necessary for real growth.
in order to be good...
Something small and yet thoughtful does the trick too]
We can discuss the way of giving and taking it, the tone, and the communication frame for it, sure thing. But the value of truly good advice is undeniable, for both people involved.
The right kind of advice can create a "before" and "after" and significantly change our take on something... if we are willing to learn how to recognize valuable advice, as a first step.
Learning how to be thankful for it and how to make the most out of it is, of course, the next step...
But let's concentrate on the first step for now. And that's again nothing more than a piece of advice.
